Materials

MADE's sweaters are made of baby alpaca fibers by fair paid artisans. Throughout the supply chain, Hope Made In The World ensures that there is absolutely no harm to the animals. The sheering process does not hurt the Alpacas. They live in the Peruvian Andes, 3000 meters above sea level and eat hichu (a wild grass that grows in the region). The land is never treated with pesticides or chemicals, allowing the Alpacas to have a healthy living and produce the finest fibers, which are biodegradable, renewable and natural. It's softer than cashmere and lighter, warmer, and more durable than wool.

The sweaters are produced by Waka-s, a family owned company in Arequipa, Peru. They have 24 employees, 70% are women. Employees are given 30 days paid vacations, up to 26 days of paid medical leave, health insurance, and social security.

Fulfillment is done by Verde, the premier eco-friendly fulfillment services company in the U.S. They use the best green business practices as a sustainable company with minimal impact on the environment.
