The Tencel that we get is made by the Lenzing Company (Austria), which uses a closed loop solvent system, which creates a more luxurious fiber. Tencel is produced from sustainably harvested eucalyptus trees. Eucalyptus grows quickly and without irrigation, pesticides, fertilizers or genetic manipulation; it can also be planted on marginal land that cannot be used for food crops. The fiber yield per acre from the trees used in the Lenzing fibers is up to ten times higher than that of cotton. Also cotton needs up to 20 times more water.
Wallis Evera's cut and sew production facilities are all locally owned and operated in Vancouver, Canada and adhere to provincial and federal labor standards and employment law. The company visits each factory on a regular basis in order to maintain excellent strong working relationships with its partners and ensure that all sustainable standards are maintained.
